Tense elimination-style card table

Elimination mode

Raises stakes between rounds — optionally blend with scoring for final placements.

Elimination flow

Adds tension for five or more players.

  • Each round, the first player to empty their hand is safe; the last player still holding cards is eliminated.
  • After an elimination, reshuffle and continue until only two players remain for the final duel.
  • Optional hybrid: record the point value left in hand when you are eliminated as a penalty score for overall placement beyond elimination order.

lightbulbPro strategy

  • check_circle

Avoid the "last with cards" trap: When several players are close to empty, sandbagging can backfire — you want out early, not stuck holding a bloated hand.

  • check_circle

Clarify redeal & seating: After each cut, confirm whether seats rotate or stay fixed so eliminations feel fair.

We only run elimination with 6+ — at five players one bad round feels too swingy.

Scoring for placements

If you record penalty points on elimination, see the scoring mode page for value tables.
