Classic standard rules
This is the most common official-style ruleset. The goal is to be the first to play all your cards.
gavelRules & mechanics
Playing to match
On your turn, play a card that matches the top card in color, number, or action symbol — or play a Wild when the rules allow.
Skip
The next player skips their turn.
Reverse
Reverses the direction of play.
Draw Two (+2)
The next player draws two cards and skips their turn.
Wild
Choose the new color to continue play.
Wild Draw Four
Choose a color; the next player draws four cards and skips their turn.
Calling "UNO"
When you have exactly one card left, you must say "UNO" before your turn ends. If another player catches you first, you draw two cards as a penalty.
lightbulbPro strategy
- check_circle
Watch the discard pile: Track color and rank pressure so you always know which exits are still live.
- check_circle
Time your wilds: Use Wild and Wild Draw Four when they maximize color control or defense — not only when you are empty of the current color.
- check_circle
UNO is a habit: Call it the moment you play your second-to-last card so you never donate free draws.
